Fun for some on a Sunday morning, as the closed A22 Godstone Road offers a novel walking route

This is not the Caterham Bourne, which has been causing the flooding in Whyteleafe and Kenley, but a similar seasonal stream, the Coulsdon Bourne near Happy Valley. This picture was taken on Jan 28 and shows the bourne in full flow – the gulley is usually a dry ditch
Inside the water treatment works, off the Godstone Road, and water levels have continued to rise over the weekend
Even some heavy-duty pumping, going 24 hours a day since before the weekend, has been unable to stop the flood water levels rising at the Kenley plant
