Whyteleafe comedy club offers a kick up the apps

A local comedy club that first opened just 12 months ago has been so successful that it is now gearing itself up to take its regular show to the Brighton Fringe Festival next month and to Edinburgh in August.

Whyteleafe Comedy Club is going on the road, taking its stand-up show, featuring some of the best comedians to have appeared at the club, and a specially written show, As Drawn on FaceTube.  This show features Dave Sellman, who runs Whyteleafe Comedy Club, plus professional caricaturist, Helen Pointer from Caterham, as well as comedians David Jones and Joe Bains.

They describe the show as “intriguing, interactive, social media mayhem”.

They say: “Surf with us though the Twittering of online Second-Lifers and Wiki-Leakers that intrude on our lives and change our worlds. Get your own caricature stuffed up the FaceTube”.

The shows are on Wednesday May 11 (9pm); Sunday May 15 (2.45pm); Sunday May 22 (2.45pm); and Wednesday May 25 (9pm). Tickets: £6 (£4 concessions), all staged at The Temple Bar, 121 Western Road, Brighton BN1 2AD.

Whyteleafe’s regular shows locally are staged on the second Friday of each month. Dates for Best of Whyteleafe Comedy Club are here.
