The Farm Open Day planned for Shabden Park Farm this Sunday, June 17, has been postponed.
The farm owners made the decision today, in part because of the inclement weather recently and forecast for Sunday, but also because the farm’s sheepdog is unwell and unable to feature in the open day’s events.
The monthly farmers’ market staged at the farm outside Chipstead is also cancelled, with the next one now planned for July.
The farmers said: “It is with regret that we have decided to postpone our summer farm open day, which we usually hold as part of Open Farm Sunday. There are a number of factors, mainly to do with the weather, but also logistical which lead us to feel that it would be a much nicer day – for us and visitors! – if we hold it later in the year when (hopefully) it will be drier.
“Our star attraction, Jim the sheep dog, is also not very well and we are all rather worried about him.”
The next market will now be July 28. The open day may also be held on that date too.
