The delayed and postponed Shabden Farmers’ Market is this Saturday, July 28, from 9.30am until 2pm.
The wettest June on record caused the previous market at the farm, in Chipstead, a 10min drive from Coulsdon, to be abandoned.
But now the market is returning, this time with an Olympic Challenge – each time you purchase something from one of the farmers’ market stall, you will receive one of the Olympic ring. Collect all five rings and receive a 10 per cent discount in the Farm Shop.
Among the specials this month are some award-winning infused extra virgin olive oils, ideal for summer barbeques and salad days. You might also have a chance to sample some new products, including a nettle beer and an elderflower champagne.
Fresh, locally grown seasonal vegetables including broad beans, grown in Coulsdon, will be on the veg stall.
And visitors are welcome to explore the farm’s many public foot paths and make the most of some fine weather to see thriving wildflowers, the farm stock and wildlife.
