Trams look to land a cup giant-killing over Hendon

Croydon FC badgeNON-LEAGUE NEWS: Croydon FC, Croydon’s highest placed non-league team, will try to match non-league giants Hendon at Croydon Arena tonight.

The clash in the fourth round of the London Senior Cup sees the Trams, of the Combined Counties League Premier Division, tackle a team from the Isthmian Premier, two divisions above them.

The crowds for Hendon’s home games are often measured in the hundreds, and about three times as many as Croydon’s typical 60-strong regular following.

Hendon had been facing a battle against relegation but, worryingly for Croydon, the north Londoners have hit some reasonable form with three 1-0 wins in the league out of the last four outings.

Both teams have been interrupted by the recent poor weather but Croydon have been the harder hit with no games for more than three weeks, since the January 5 home win over their league leaders Egham Town.

Tonight’s match kicks off at 7.45pm.
