A tech start-up company based at Airport House on the Purley Way has launched a smartphone app that they claim will “revolutionise” the way we order our takeaways and book restaurant tables.
Mathew Gomes, the co-founder of Feast Express, said, “When it comes to satisfying hunger, no one likes settling for second choice. That’s why we have created the most advanced feature-packed dining app for consumers and marketing platform for restaurants.
“Our app enables people to choose restaurants and dishes sensibly using features such as smart menu filtering, group ordering, payment sharing and social recommendations. Also we have given restaurants more control, freedom and flexibility to manage and promote their business.”
Gomes’s business partner, Hurshkumar Donde, Feast Express’s sales and marketing head, said, “Never, ever, has it been so easy and pleasant experience to find the best restaurant or local takeaway and place an order in few clicks for takeaway or book a table for the very fine dining experience with your dear ones that you have been longing for.
“No need to search for endless pages of the telephone directory or web pages to search for a restaurant, see their reviews from some strangers and book a table though countless web proliferators or order a takeaway from the dull and boring website or apps. Feast Express app does it all for you.”

Would be great if it worked. The Android app barfs out with a “No connection” error on my Samsung tablet. Has anyone else had better luck?
Well I had a Facebook dialogue with the developers which went from “it only works on smart phones” to “oh we just tried it it does work on a tablet” via “are you from the Croydon Advertiser?”
Anyway amidst all of that it magically started working on my tablet.
I work in an IT department and we are quite accustomed to things fixing themselves without apparent human intervention. I suspect a server-side tweak in this case.
On to the app. Does what it says on the tin I suppose, but I can’t work out what it does that Just Eat and Hungry House on the one hand (ordering takeaways), and Top Table on the other (booking tables), don’t. At the moment it’s very much a work in progress. You get presented with a long list of restaurants but only seven appear to be live, a few of the usual suspects in South Croydon and couple in Thornton Heath.
I wish them well, but I reckon they’ve got their work cut out if they’re going to sign up enough clients to compete with the established players.
I had a much better experience I must say. I tried the app and even made and order. It went very smoothly given the fact it is a new app in the market. I remember doing the same on Just Eat.. it was a disaster. I like the fact I can do both takeaway and booking from the same app. I’d surely want to see more restaurants in Croydon from more cuisines. Didn’t understand the Friends feature, but checking the website what it says that you can see your friends reviews. That will be great. I guess that will happen when some of my contacts also download the app.
I do check out a lot of apps. The design is quite clean and best is works like a breeze. the developers have done a great job. I’ll try doing a booking next time once I see more restaurants. I like the fact the service has been launched in Croydon. Hope they go the long way and become another Just Eat and Top Table.
Hi Jason – thank you for your feedback. We need more supporters like you. email your contacts on contactus@feastexpress.com and we will reward you with a restaurant voucher.
So you really are offering payment (in kind, at least) for favourable reviews? How unethical is that?
We want our customers to support us by using our service and offering us feedback (positive and negative). That helps us to improve the product & service to new and loyal customers.
All businesses want their customers’ support and feedback.
Not many of them offer outright bribes for favourable reviews, as you have been doing.
Jason: were you paid, or did you receive any benefit in kind, from Feast Express for posting your comment?
