A concert dedicated to the victims of the inhumanity, barbarism and the tyranny of fascism to mark next week’s Holocaust Memorial Day is being held at Ruskin House next Saturday, January 31.
Featuring international music from Klezmerco (Jewish klezmer music and also folk music from all over the Balkans including Polish, Serbian, Romanian, Hungarian and Bulgarian), Slavyanya (Russian chidren’s choir and dance group), Red Mamaloshen and The International Men of Mystery. Admission is £2 on the door. Licensed bar with real ale. Food is available but not included in admission
The Jewish Memorial Candle will be lit in memory of all those who perished during the Holocaust. A further candle will be lit in memory of those who died in the Paris terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo and the kosher supermarket.
The memorial candle will burn for 24 hours helping us to bring to mind all the victims of torture and genocide throughout the world.
Event organised by Ruskin House Folk and Blues Club, Ruskin House Management Committee and the Croydon Trades Unions.

Recommended. I was there last year. We commemorate the people who perished holocaust and at the same time celebrate our common humanity in a wonderfully joyful life-affirming way with music and dance. This is not a contradiction or a paradox, but exactly the right thing to do..
