A house on King Henry’s Drive has been declared the winner of the 2015 New Addington best Christmas lights display.

The gentle competition was organised by local councillors Oliver Lewis, Carole Bonner, Louisa Woodley and Simon Hall, and covered both New Addington and Fieldway wards.

There were so many displays to be judged that Lewis had to apologise for not getting round to announcing the result of their deliberations until last night.

A house on Leveret Close was adjudged the winner of the most original display category.

Both householders will be receiving a prize cheque to donate to a charity cause of their choosing.

“Thank you to everyone who made a nomination,” Lewis announced on social media. “As always so many houses across New Addington really embraced the Christmas spirit and had wonderful Christmas Lights displays.

“Well done to all involved.”
