Raise your voice with Dominic Peckham at St John’s, Feb 13

CPAFCroydon Performing Arts Festival presents “Raise Your Voice”, a choral workshop with Dominic Peckham, at St John the Evangelist Church on February 13, from 10.30am through to a concert in the evening.

The organisers say, “Join one of Britain’s leading choral directors, Dominic Peckham, for an exciting day of singing, from Michael Jackson and American Spirituals to your classical choral favourites. No reading experience, just your voices and your friends.”

Peckham has worked with Pete Townshend, Alfie Boe, John Rutter, Edward Gardner and Sir David Willcocks.

The day’s workshop timetable looks like this:

10.30 Registration/Warm-up
11.00 Session 1: Into the music Exploring how and why we sing
12.30 Lunch
13.30 Session 2: Circlesongs Combining songs of the world plus beat-boxing masterclass
15.30 Tea
16.00 Session 3: The Big Sing Countdown to the performance
18.00 Concert Hear our singers in full voice
