After all the hard work and wassailing in Addiscombe Railway Park Community Orchard, the time has come to harvest the fruits of volunteers’ labours this Sunday, September 25.
This is a fun and free family event where there will be apple picking, apple cake, apple bobbing, peeling competition, family games, planting in the community garden and park tours.
This year Friends of Addiscombe Railway Park planted a community orchard and have built a community garden where people can grow food and flowers together, connecting both with nature and their neighbours.
They are also hosting a number of free community events and would love you to join them.
They meet on the second Sunday of every month from 2pm to undertake conservation and improvement works in the park. New and old volunteers are always welcome. The next work day is Sunday, October 9.
You can also find them on their website, Facebook, Twitter or streetlife or get in touch by email on parkfriends@addiscombe.net for more information.
