Warlingham rugby club is hosting an initiative from the gverning body of the game in England, the RFU, to challenge women and girls, aged from 18 to 40 years old, to discover their “Inner Warrior” and try a taster session of fun rugby.

The event is being staged next Wednesday, May 17, from 7pm Warlingham RFC, which is on Limpsfield Road.

Those interested in trying rugby should just turn up in trainers and normal work-out gear. Rugby 7s for women is a rapidly growing sport, its introduction at the Rio Olympics last year giving it huge media exposure.

To get more information go to www.EnglandRugby.com/innerwarrior and sign up, or just turn up next Wednesday evening.

Peter Upton, Warlingham’s club president said, “Our girls’ and ladies’ section has grown enormously over the past 12 months and it’s clear that rugby is becoming a favourite sport with adventurous women.

“The challenge is for women to step out of their comfort zone and see if they are up for something a bit different.”
