Colliers Wood Library is across the road from the Northern Line station, which has frequent trains from Balham.

The talk is part of a series of events which Merton’s heritage officer, Sarah Gould, is co-ordinating this year to commemorate the centenary of women’s suffrage.

She is speaking herself at 10.30am on October 16 at West Barnes Library on Women’s Suffrage in Merton. The library is adjacent to Motspur Park station, which is served by six trains an hour from Clapham Junction.

Gould will be giving two other Tuesday morning talks at West Barnes:

  • The Human Face of War: Tales of Merton’s First World War Combatants on Aug 21 and
  • Reminiscences of Old Merton on Sep 18.
