    I pass no comment on the friends of Mitcham common as I dont know much about them other than they are the only people to have put the only seat on the common (windmill end) about 40 yrs ago As for the Common conservators these people are a waste of space, they do nothing to maintain the common unless it is to the benefit of birds, in the winter it turns into a boot sucking quagmire, they tip the occasional dumper load of builders rubble on some of the worst spots which they then fail to level leaving a surface that is dangerous to those who are not that steady on their feet, they carry out no maintenance on the ruts that pass for paths, in short they do nothing for the residents who would like to use the common and I defy any wheelchair or pushchair user to try and navigate the windmill end of the common .
