Casa Argentina, in Broad Green, has built a reputation for excellence in the import and distribution of authentic Argentine food and drink. And now it has a national award to endorse that reputation.

The National Entrepreneur Awards were hosted by TV celebrity Vernon Kay and staged at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre to celebrate the most dynamic small businesses across the country, as part of a two-day event attended by more than 1,400 delegates.

Chosen from among hundreds of finalists, Casa Argentina stood out for “exceptional customer service standards”, “transparency” and “genuine care for customers”.

Those are accolades that more than 25 years of hard work have earned. From its base on Sumner Road, the company imports, distributes and promotes premium Argentinian products including, of course, prime steak and beef, chorizos, empanadas, yerba mate and their Great Taste Award-winning dulce de leche. The company sees as its mission to bring an authentic taste of Argentina to homes and restaurants across Britain.

“Winning this award is not just a business milestone — it’s a reflection of our values,” Pistone, Casa Argentina’s co-founder and CEO told Inside Croydon.

“We’ve always believed that ‘service’ is not a department — it’s an attitude. Every order, every email, every box we send out is handled with care, and this award recognises the heart our team puts into everything we do.”

Casa Argentina’s customers include wholesalers and households, and an impressive list of some some top restaurants such as Gaucho, Buenos Aires and Buen Asado.

Big night: the awards ceremony and convention in Birmingham was attended by 1,400 delegates, with Vernon Kay as the presenter

The company also includes embassies, chambers of commerce and even Premier League footballers among its loyal clientele.

The business has become known for its “Boxes of Happiness” — carefully packed orders featuring fresh Argentine beef, empanadas and wines, all delivered with personal touches that reflect the company’s values of care, reliability, teamwork, openness and respect.

“Croydon has been the heart of our operations,” Pistone said. “We’re proud to represent our borough at national level and to show that great customer service still matters — whether you’re a local deli, a global brand or somewhere in between.”
