The Save the David Lean Cinema Campaign – which recently completed a year of films at the re-opened Croydon Clocktower – have made a special presentation to Jane Hunt, who has attended more screenings at the arthouse cinema in the past year than anyone else.

At a party for their volunteers last week, it was announced that Hunt had attended 52 of the 75 films shown during the cinema’s first year of community management.
“I’m delighted – along with many others – to see the cinema working again and I would like to pay tribute to everyone involved in making this possible; the committee, projectionists, film programmers, box office and, of course, my fellow steward volunteers,” Hunt said.
“I like the varied choice of films following the David Lean tradition of mainstream and arthouse.”
Hunt was presented with two complimentary tickets by Adrian Winchester, the campaign chairman, who said: “We’re extremely grateful that many supporters regularly come to our films, but Jane’s average of one every week is phenomenal. Hopefully this will encourage any film-lovers yet to experience the David Lean’s unique charm.”
