Get busy this weekend to help Heathfield House’s Bee World

Croydon Friends of the Earth is seeking volunteers to help with a planting session in their Bee World project in the gardens of Heathfield House this Sunday, January 17.

“This Sunday, we’ll be planting the rest of the heathers in the larger plants into the Lavender Walk in the walled garden and the rest dotted around the Bee World,” they say.

Heathfield House is at the top of Gravel Hill, on Coombe Lane. The Coombe Lane tram stop is close by.

The work parties should start at 11am. Anyone attending for the first time ought to wear work clothes and, of course, wrap up warm.

The group’s first discussion and planning meeting of the year will then take place next Tuesday, January 19, in the Church Lounge of the East Croydon United Reform Church on Addiscombe Grove. There is wheelchair access, and the meeting should begin at 7.30pm.
