Council offers £4,000 grants to ‘liven up’ Croydon’s parks

Croydon Council has a £40,000 fund available towards community schemes to ‘liven up’ their local parks and green spaces.

With grants of up to £4,000 for each project, groups have until the end of this month to apply.

“I’m really excited by this project and I’m looking forward to seeing what ideas people put forward,” said Timothy Godfrey, the council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure, and sport.

“Our plans for the future of Croydon’s parks are that the community will become a lot more involved with how they are managed and maintained. This grant fund will let us explore new ways of getting people out to enjoy our fantastic green open spaces.”

Any ideas will be considered as long as they meet one of the four themes set down by the scheme.
