Quacky Races comes to the River Wandle next month

One of Morden Hall Park’s favourite traditions returns on Saturday, September 1: Quacky Races.

The River Wandle and a number of channels flow through Morden Hall Park, now run by the National Trust. In the past, the waterways were used as an essential source of power for the mills that stand in the park, close to the hall.

And for one day only, you’ll have the chance to harness that water power in a mass race.

“For £2 you can borrow one of our plastic ducks to join in a race down the river,” the Trust says. “You can also make a flag to cheer your duck on from the sidelines.”

The races are staged throughout the day, from , 11am to 3pm.

Morden Hall Park is just a short tram ride away from central Croydon.
