Crystal Palace Park’s £52m restoration project to get underway

Brightening the future with heritage from the past: Crystal Palace Park Trust is making important progress in updating the 170-year-old, Grade I-listed park

Multi-million-pound major works to restore and improve Crystal Palace Park will be starting on May 19. They are expected to last until August 2026.

The works are part of an ambitious, £52million park-wide regeneration plan being co-delivered Crystal Palace Park Trust and Bromley Council.

During the works, the park will remain open to all visitors, “however you are likely to notice a difference to your typical visits, with footpath redirections, gate and car park closures”, the Trust advised today.

“There will still be lots for you to see, experience, and enjoy during your visit,” CPPT said today.

The park toilets and Changing Places toilet, Brown and Green Life café, boat hire, and The Concert Café will remain open throughout the restoration project.

The key elements of the scheme include:

From next month, there will be reduced public access during the works to the dinosaurs and tidal lakes. Works on the Italian Terraces will begin in July this year and last 12 months.

“As this is a large and complex programme, there may be changes,” the Trust said today. “We will be sure to keep you up-to-date.”
