Chestnut Park Primary has a new headteacher, with Jason Ofori appointed to lead at the academy-run primary in Broad Green.
New head: Chestnut Park, opened in 2017, has its third headteacher in two years
Ofori replaces Rachel Jacob, who after two years at the school left in August to take up a new position in Wallington.
Chestnut Park was judged “Outstanding” by Ofsted in its most recent inspection, with strengths in leadership, curriculum development, teaching and learning.
Chestnut Park opened in new buildings on St James’s Road in 2017 as a three-form entry primary school.
Chestnut Park is managed by GLF Schools, the academy chain which operates more than 40 schools across Oxford, Surrey and Sussex. They said Ofori “brings a wealth of experience to his new role”.
Experienced: Jason Ofori
Ofori has worked his way up through the teaching ranks, from teaching assistant through to principal within a south London multi-academy trust. He also works with Ofsted as an inspector. Most recently, he worked as interim head at Canary Wharf College Glenworth.
“I feel honoured to be joining such a dedicated team at Chestnut Park,” Ofori said.
“I’ve been warmly welcomed by staff, pupils, and parents. My focus will be on continuing to develop the curriculum and teaching and learning to ensure consistently strong outcomes.”
