Sanderstead youngster lines up alongside Robshaw

There will be a new face in the England line-up at Twickenham ahead of the international against South Africa on Saturday: 11-year-old Sanderstead schoolboy Archie McMillan.

McMillan is one of 23 youngsters who have been selected by their grassroots clubs to accompany the England team members in the match build-up.

The first year at Trinity School will be with the England captain Chris Robshaw, who like McMillan also played flank forward in the mini and junior teams at Warlingham.

The mascots, all playing at under-12 level, will run out at Twickenham on Saturday in their club kit.

Saturday’s outing follows a trip to Pennyhill Park earlier this month where McMillan was able to watch the England squad train and meet the players afterwards.

“It was great to meet the young players and be reminded of the many junior clubs from where we came,” Robshaw said. “We all started playing junior rugby and we wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for these clubs. This is a great way to recognise their contribution and say thank you to them all.”
