England’s rugby captain, Chris Robshaw, is going back to his grassroots on Sunday, with a special visit to his first rugby club, Warlingham.

With England having the weekend off from Six Nations action, flank forward Robshaw, now the highly successful club captain at Harlequins, will be spending four hours on the playing fields at Hamsey Green conducting some media interviews but also spending time helping with the coaching of Warlingham’s minis and junior age groups – the very place where he started playing his own rugby 17 years ago.
Robshaw will also be available for autographs.
Robshaw, 25, first played rugby at Warlingham when about seven years old, while also attending Cumnor House prep school in South Croydon.
He was appointed England captain for the Six Nations, after having previously won just a single international cap. He was confirmed in the post for the rest of the tournament after leading England to wins over Scotland and Italy. After a narrow defeat to Wales last weekend, Robshaw will lead England against France in Paris on Sunday March 11.
The Warlingham club’s warm and friendly bar in their clubhouse off Limpsfield Road will be open later in the morning and some food will also be available.
