There are two guided history walks coming up in Coulsdon later this month, organised through Coulsdon Commons, the body under the City of London Corporation which manages the downland.

Hidden history of Coulsdon Common
Sat Mar 21, 10am – 12noon
Explore the Common with Ranger Sean O’Kelly on a guided walk to spot the hidden historic features. We will look at the site of Merlewood House, the windmill and the World War II features and clues that can be seen today. Well-behaved dogs welcome. Booking essential.

Guided history walk at Farthing Downs
Sun Mar 22, 2pm -3.30pm
Discover how people shaped the landscape we see today. Find out what excavations at the site have told us about the lives of Iron Age and Saxon people. Meet at the Farthing Downs car park. Booking essential.
