Signs of the times: notices go up of ticket office closures

Where “modernising” actually means staff cuts, cost-cutting and questionable levels of on-going service.

The notices have gone up in Thornton Heath and the other 10 stations across Croydon and Sutton where ticket offices face closure, to be replaced by “Station Hosts”.
