Ready for take off: Croydon’s ‘scariest’ Morris group is seeking new members
A group of folk dancers who describe themselves as “Croydon’s scariest Morris side” are recruiting dancers to join in the fun they have at community events, festivals and their dance outs at their favourite pubs and open spaces in 2017.
The Wild Hunt Morris is holding an open practice, next Tuesday, January 10, at their regular meeting place on St James’s Road.
The squire of the Wild Hunt Morris, Alison Scrimshaw, said, “Morris Dancing is a great way to get fit and make friends. It is also far far cheaper than joining a gym and there is no expensive equipment and kit needed.”
The open practice offers a taste of Morris dancing with experienced dancers and other total beginners.
The practice starts at 8.15pm at The Scout Hut, 113-115 St James’s Road, CR0 2UZ.
“Come along and make a start on your New Year’s resolution to have a more active lifestyle,” Scrimshaw said.
