Builder’s Arms new landlord gets ready for Night of Dance

The new landlord of the Builder’s Arms is gearing himself up for something the like of which he has never experienced before.

New Builder’s Arms landlord Carlton Sealy is preparing himself for a big night with Morris dancers this Tuesday

The Croydon Night of Dance takes place this Tuesday, August 15, when nine Morris sides – bands of Morris, clog and other traditional folk dancers – descend on the Addiscombe pub from around London and the south-east

“There is a new face at the Builders Arms,” James Denny, the Squire of the Croydon Night of Dance, said.

“The new landlord Carlton Sealy has been very happy to host the main part of the event. We hope that this is the beginning of a long and happy association.”

The Night of Dance starts at around 7pm, and will see some of the groups dance their way to the Oval Tavern, with performances going on through the evening.

“We are thrilled to be organising this event in partnership with Croydon Rotary Club, Croydon Hearing and with the support of our local councillor and former Mayor of Croydon Patricia Hay-Justice,” Denny said.

“This year’s Mayor, Toni Letts, will be visiting the event. She has kindly attended the event for two years running now and we are delighted to see her again.

“It promises to be a good night for the local pubs the Builder Arms and the Oval Tavern.”
