Lime bikes are falling over themselves to be taken for a ride

This is the scene outside West Croydon railway station yesterday afternoon.

The dockless Lime e-bike trial in Croydon is less than one week in, and already one of the more obvious, predictable, shortcomings with a dockless bike hire scheme was being made evident.

Inside Croydon has received reports of the electrically assisted bicycles – which each cost around £2,000 – being dumped outside an Addiscombe pub and in Norbury.

Inside Croydon yesterday reported on the launch of the year-long Lime bike trial in Croydon, which is starting just as other towns and cities around the country are abandoning similar dockless bike schemes.

Let’s hope those using the Lime bikes get the knack of parking them before too long…
