Bach Choir seeks singers for performance of Elgar masterpiece

The Croydon Bach Choir, one of the borough’s leading arts groups, together with the Lambeth Orchestra, are set to perform a magnificent rendition of Edward Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius at St Matthew’s Church next March.

And they are seeking new singers – tenors and basses – to join their chorus.

“As the choir prepares for this momentous event, we are extending an invitation to talented tenors and basses to join the chorus in bringing this powerful piece to life,” a spokesperson for the Croydon Bach Choir said.

“The opportunity to be part of this unique performance is not one to be missed.”

Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius is a cornerstone of the classical repertoire, widely recognised for its emotional depth and soaring melodies, with its rich musical tapestry and profound exploration of life, death and the afterlife.

“This performance promises to be a highlight of Croydon’s cultural calendar, offering audiences an unforgettable evening of music.”

To join the Croydon Bach Choir for this remarkable performance, interested singers can contact chairman@croydonbachchoir.org for more information. “Don’t miss the chance to be part of this extraordinary musical experience.”
