Location is coming to Croydon – and they want to film you

House hunters: Phil Spencer and Kirstie Allsop are returning to Croydon after eight years

Location, Location, Location is coming back to Croydon, and the producers want to hear from south London house hunters who are willing to appear on the programme.

They will be recording for series 29 – yes, 29! – of the popular Channel 4 show.

“Whether you’re a first-time buyer, looking for your next home, downsizing or relocating – whatever the reason for moving, we’d love to hear your story,” the producers say.

The episode will be filming soon, but there’s still time to apply to be the subject of the programme.

On the show’s previous visit to Croydon, in 2017, they came up with an unusual take with three mates who had known one another from their school days and needed to pool their funds just to get on the first rung of the housing ladder.

Joe Murray, Will Downes and Joe Rawlinson were guided on their house hunt, mostly around Addiscombe and South Norwood, by presenter Kirstie Allsopp.

Where are they now?: the three amigos – Rawlinson (left), Downes and Murray – with Allsopp in 2017

Joe Rawlinson said: “We saw it was advertised online and a friend said apply on the off-chance you could get on, you never know. It was out of curiosity and almost as a bit of a joke.

“The show got in touch with us within five minutes or so after we applied, it was all really quick. I think it’s because you don’t usually get three people applying to be on the show.”

The trio never did buy any of the properties that Allsopp and her co-presenter, Phil Spencer, lined up for them. But they did convert a garage into a bedroom.

So, whether you’re a couple, a trio or a whole household looking for a new house now, C4 wants to hear from you.

They might even scope out a remarkable 12-bed house on Gravel Hill that has been on the market recently. A bit of a “do-er up-er”, but Spencer assures us it could be a snip at just £1million.
