House fire: firefighters from five stations, including Croydon and Purley, were called out to the fire on Roe Way yesterday afternoon
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a fire at an end-of-terrace house on Roe Way in Wallington yesterday.
Roof-less: the cause of the fire on Roe Way is under investigation
Part of the roof of a three-storey house was destroyed.
A cat, called Tiger, was rescued by crews and brought to safety.
There were no reported injuries, feline nor human.
One of the Brigade’s 32 metre ladders was deployed.
The Brigade’s 999 Control officers received the first of 15 calls reporting the fire at 3.49pm. Firefighters from Wallington, Croydon, Purley, Sutton and Norbury fire stations were at the scene. The fire was under control by 7.36pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
