A police car had been in pursuit of the 2026 black Hyundai Tucson when it swerved off the road, and as our photographs show, ended up on the property’s external wall.
Several people were inside the house when the car crashed into it, though there are no reports of any injuries.
Scotland Yard released this statement to Inside Croydon: “Christiano Zampieri, 37 (28.07.1989), of Becontree Avenue, Dagenham, was charged on Tuesday October 27 with failing to provide a breath sample, failing to stop for police, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.”
Zampieri has been released on bail to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on November 20.
According to the police, “He was arrested on Monday October 26 following a police pursuit that began at around 23:30hrs on Lower Addiscombe Road, Croydon, after a car failed to stop for officers. The car then collided with a building on Portland Road.”
