Free ride: the first 100 people who have Feb 29 birthdays will qualify for a London Eye ticket
There will be some, not many, who in a fortnight will celebrating their birthday for the first time in four years…
And the operators of the London Eye are offering special birthday free rides to anyone who has their birthday on Leap Day – February 29.
“Leap babies” are those who were born on a leap day’s “extra” day – February 29 in 2020, 2016, 2012, 2008… you get the drift. Many leap babies like to think that they age at one-quarter of the pace of other mere mortals, because they only get a real birthday once every fourth year. Most just blow out the candles on their birthday cake on February 28s and get on with it.
But this leap year, to give those 5million “leaplings” around the world an extra reason to smile, the lastminute.com London Eye on the South Bank will give them the chance to hop aboard one of its pods free of charge.

All those celebrating their birthday this leap year need to do to take advantage of this amazing offer is to come down to the London Eye ticket hall on the South Bank and provide official proof of their date of birth (a valid driving license, passport or birth certificate).
The offer will be available to the first 100 leaplings on the day, which will entitle them to one free ticket for the attraction valid on the February 29 only.
