The police and London Fire Brigade are investigating the cause of a house fire in South Croydon which claimed the life of a man.
Part of the ground floor of an end-of-terrace house was damaged by the fire, according to the LFB.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus found a man in the home, who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
The Brigade was called at 11.56am on August 31. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters from Croydon, Woodside and Norbury fire stations attended the scene. The fire was under control by 1pm.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service,” the LFB said in a statement.
