Two appliances and a command unit were called to a fire at the junction of London Road and Nova Road just after 9.30pm.
Smoke was pouring out of the building with flames lapping the bottom of the front door of the three-storey property.

London Fire service personnel at the scene declined to comment on the cause of the fire. An investigation will take place.
No one was reported to be seriously hurt.
The fire brigade’s quick action saved an area of high density housing.
Locals reported that the property had been the subject of a previous fire, where young men had put lit papers on the property.
Other residents reported that pedestrians were subject to intimidation at the junction nearby from young men, who were throwing large missiles, including planks of wood.
