Rail services out of East Croydon, operated by Southern Railways, are to operate on a revised timetable for a fifth day because of the winter weather.
In an email distributed this afternoon, the rail franchise – which operates the Gatwick Express as well as commuter services into London Bridge and Victoria – advised that it would not be able to provide its regular service again on Tuesday.
“Because of the continuing poor conditions on our network, we are planning to operate an amended timetable tomorrow with some additional cancellations. Full details, as well as the latest running information, are available on http://www.southernrailway.com,” they said.
By operating an amended timetable, the operator is less likely to be responsible for providing financial compensation to its season ticket-holders.
The BBC’s weather forecast for Croydon predicts icy, sub-zero temperatures tonight, but a thawing 2-degree day tomorrow and no further snow forecast.
