The next meeting of the Norwood Society, being staged next Thursday, September 18, will look at “Researching Upper Norwood’s glorious dead of the Great War”.
The talk will have particular resonance as centenary commemorations take place around the country and in the borough, and it should also prove particularly useful to anyone researching their own family histories, since Green will be able to provide some insight into how he conducts his own work.
The Norwood Society’s history talks take place each month, from 7.30 to 9.30pm (the third Thursday of the month) and are staged at Upper Norwood Library, 39-41 Westow Hill, Upper Norwood, SE19 1TJ.
The October talk, on October 16, will be “From Fire Station to Theatre”, with Bob Callender of the South London Theatre Centre.
All are welcome, there is no charge, but donations are welcome.
