Government minister to give speech at first Croydon AI summit

The Croydon Business Association is to stage the borough’s first AI summit in the town centre on October 1, when it is hoped that Feryal Clark, the Labour government’s minister for AI, will be among the speakers.

“This event will help to make AI accessible and connect local businesses to new opportunities,” said Sarah Jones, the MP for West Croydon and government minister for industry.

“Well done to the Croydon Business Association for promoting the accessibility and ethical use of AI in our borough and beyond.”

The conference is being held at London South Bank University’s Croydon Campus, and admission is free. Attendees will need to register in advance for a ticket.

“With the theme ‘Innovate Locally, Impact Globally’, the summit will showcase how communities, businesses, and public services can harness AI to transform lives,” said a spokesperson for the newly-formed, independent Croydon Business Association, which already has more than 300 members.
