The Croydon Business Association is to stage the borough’s first AI summit in the town centre on October 1, when it is hoped that Feryal Clark, the Labour government’s minister for AI, will be among the speakers.
“This event will help to make AI accessible and connect local businesses to new opportunities,” said Sarah Jones, the MP for West Croydon and government minister for industry.
“Well done to the Croydon Business Association for promoting the accessibility and ethical use of AI in our borough and beyond.”
The conference is being held at London South Bank University’s Croydon Campus, and admission is free. Attendees will need to register in advance for a ticket.
“With the theme ‘Innovate Locally, Impact Globally’, the summit will showcase how communities, businesses, and public services can harness AI to transform lives,” said a spokesperson for the newly-formed, independent Croydon Business Association, which already has more than 300 members.

Keynote speaker: AI minister Feryal Clark
The conference will have the theme of “How Local Communities Can Lead AI Innovation”.
The summit will include
- Expert Panels on AI in Business, Healthcare, and Education
- Hands-on exhibitions from startups and tech leaders
- Networking opportunities connecting entrepreneurs, civic leaders, and innovators
- Partnership Showcase with Croydon Council, Startup Croydon, LSBU and the Croydon Business Association
The event begins at 10am on Wednesday, October 1 at LSBU Croydon Campus, Electric House, 3 Wellesley Road, Croydon, CR0 2AG.

Not yet another Croydon Business Association about to have all the impact that the previous Croydon Business Associations have had. Do they count the blighting of Croydon as a success now in their upside down AI world? Fail locally, laughed up at globally.
Oh this is the funniest thing ever – Croydon and AI go together like oil and water. Or Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel
Sorry for a postscript – the new association believes Croydon is a place where “culture meets commerce, and community drives innovation …. alive with opportunity, diversity, and unstoppable growth.” Does anyone recognise that vision of paradise?
