Croydon’s local Labour party and trades union “hub” (which has never cost the public £450 million), Ruskin House, is holding a family fun day on Saturday June 2, from 12-4pm.

There will be a book sale, children’s activities, a raffle and a barbeque, as well as a variety of stalls.
Admission is free.
So you have the opportunity to visit this elegant early Georgian townhouse – formerly called Coombe Hill House – and sit in its secluded traditional walled garden with a tea and cake from one of the stalls or enjoy a real ale, from the licensed club bar.
Roy Aird, the president of Ruskin House, encouraged local residents to visit come rain or shine: “Ruskin House club has a lovely garden but we also have a hall available if our British summer weather lets us down. We are really looking forward to welcoming families from the local community to the Fun Day.”
Ruskin House, 23 Coombe Road, CR0 1BD, is situated on the corner of Coombe Road and Park Lane and is a 300-year-old Grade II listed building just a few minutes from the centre of Croydon. Click here for Croydon Council’s history of Ruskin House.
