Trams and bus services to be heavily curtailed for 10 days

Trams services will be disrupted for 10 days at the end of August

The trams service will be suspended between East Croydon and New Addington, and Elmers End and Beckenham Junction from Friday, August 23 to Sunday, September 1. There will also be a reduced frequency of service for trams to Wimbledon during this 10-day period, and some bus services will be affected.

Transport for London issued the notice, saying that, “As part of our programme to upgrade tracks, roads and bridges in the Croydon area, there will be some temporary service changes for trams and buses from Friday 23 August to Sunday 1 September.

Local buses will also be on diversion due to road closures:

TfL said, “We will increase the number of buses on busy routes and provide some tram replacement bus services. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.”

They advise, “Plan your journey, see the latest status updates for trams, and the latest status updates for buses on the TfL website.”
