Zoraki 914: what most people carry in their bag on the way to the shops…
A Croydon villain has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, with an extra five years on licence, after he was caught on his own Bensham Manor doorstep carrying a bag containing two guns, ammunition, body armour and nearly 5 grams of heroin.
Drug dealer Christopher McKenzie was out on parole when he was arrested last year.
McKenzie was arrested in April last year at his Pawsons Road home following an investigation by what the Met calls “specialist crime detectives”.
The Met said: “As officers arrived at his door, McKenzie was seen to be carrying a bag, which was then found to contain the guns.” In fact, when searched, the bag revealed McKenzie was carrying a Zoraki 914 and a Colt .25, two magazines, a couple of rounds of ammunition, ballistic body armour and the Class A drugs.
McKenzie, 37, after pleading guilty to possession of two firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life, possession of firearms when a prohibited person and possession with intent to supply 4.75 grams of heroin, was sentened at Croydon Crown Court last week.

Detective Chief Inspector Lewis Sanderson, said: “Despite being out on licence at the time of his arrest last year – after being jailed in 2012 for selling firearms to undercover police officers – McKenzie had still not learned his lesson.
“He had even incriminated himself by sending messages on his phone stating that he was ‘sleeping with a gun in his bedside table’.
“We are totally dedicated to keeping people safe from weapons and drugs, and we do our jobs so we can ensure that criminals such as McKenzie are stopped.
“It is very satisfying to know that he will not be able to cause harm to anyone now he is once again behind bars.”
