The council is offering grants to community groups in New Addington, Shrublands and Croydon town centre for them to provide support to young people at risk of becoming involved in violence and antisocial behaviour.
“The council will continue to work with its community partners to deliver outreach sessions that will intervene with young people who are most vulnerable to offending and criminal exploitation, with a particular focus on working with women and girls at risk,” the council announced.

The council says it will be hosting “a virtual session for groups interested in applying for the funding”, but they have yet to release the details for this meeting.
The council released three modest grants to community groups operating in similar parts of the borough last year, using £80,000 provided by the Mayor of London’s violence reduction unit.
