The David Lean Cinema’s final season began last night. WALKER DUNELM adds his lament to its closing
This is a great loss for those who love film.
The charms of this splendid venue were its excellent choice of films, its very comfortable seats with loads of leg-room, a mature audience which did not talk, text, use mobile phones, eat popcorn or keep changing seats.
Even the advertisements screened before the “real” films were unusual and witty.
RIP.
