Weekend rambles: Addington Hills charity walk, May 15

The Rotary Club of Croydon is staging a Charity Fun Walk this Sunday in Shirley.

The four-mile walk, starting from 2pm from the car park of Shirley High School, Shirley Church Road, is to support Croydon Women’s Aid, a charity which provides refuge and support for families that are victims of domestic violence. The organisers are seeking a £2 donation from each walker.

The route is suitable for all ages, and there’s a special children’s walk quiz and fancy dress competition on the day, with refreshments available before and after the walk.

Walkers will take in Sandpits Road and Oaks Road, and the Addington Hills trampath, down Gravel Hill towards Addington Village, returning via Spout Hill and Shirley Church Road.

To register for the walk, email irenehadley@btinternet.com. Any questions concerning the walk, phone David Milsted on 020 8656 5792.
