More from Croydon Council‘s internal interweb thingy. This time it’s the latest accolade for the Employee of the Month. And Croydon’s hardest working employee is one of the car pound staff. #thatissocroydon

Efficiency is in our DNA: Nearly three months after closing the arts facilities at the Clocktower, including the David Lean Cinema, there's still a "big" welcome for visitors
Here at Inside Croydon, we congratulate Collins.
It is worth noting that Croydon CEO Jon Rouse has got himself another dishonorable mention in the latest edition of Private Eye, out today (check out their Libraries section – Lord Gnome clearly reads Inside Croydon).
Meanwhile, here at Inside Croydon Towers, we worry that if Rouse makes many more council staff redundant, our £200,000-a-year man (plus exes!) will be the only one left to win future Employee of the Month awards.
Here’s the website guff from Croydon Council, where “efficiency is in our DNA”. And we haven’t corrected the typos/spelling errors:
Congratulations to Collins Boansi– winner of the newest category for the 2011 Croydon Council Awards, Employee or Team of the Month.
Our Employee or Team of the Month award recognises the excellence of our staff. This award is presented in recognition of an individual’s or team’s contribution to ensuring that Croydon continues to be an excellent place to work.
Car pound dispatch controller, Collins, was nominated for his high skill levels and first class service when dealing with contractors, staff and customer issues. His nomination included this glowing comment from his line manager:
“Collins always comes to work with a smile on his face and a very kind word for everyone, day in and day out. Nothing is too much trouble for him and he often takes on extra work with a appositive ‘can do’ attitude, in short, nothing is too much for him to tackle over and above his normal every increasing workload.”
His hard work has also been praised by Cyril Hobbs, one of the senior drivers, who complimented Collins’ consistent professionalism and outstanding service to Croydon Council.
Well done and congratulations Collins!
All winners of the Employee or Team of the Month awards will automatically receive an invitation to the gala ceremony in November 2011.
In the words of Lord Gnome, and possibly Jon Rouse, “Trebles all round!”
