About the Role
We are looking for a forward thinking and innovative business continuity professional to shape the provision of consultancy, advice and support for continuity planning within the Council and to the borough more widely. You will deliver a commercial approach to business continuity, marketing the service to businesses/organisations throughout the borough and maximising the potential of existing arrangements with schools and partner organisations whilst ensuring that the council’s internal and contracted services remain resilient. This is a key role within the Council with a significant profile and opportunity for career development.
The post holder will ensure that British Standards or ISO standards relating to Business Continuity Planning are reflected in the continuity plans produced by Departments, leading to the authority meeting the requirements of the Civil Contingency Act 2004.
The post holder will lead on aligning the council to appropriate Business Continuity Standards currently the BS 25999 and looking forward to ISO 22301. As part of the assurance role to the council, the post holder will be responsible for undertaking supply chain analysis/resilience testing for all the authorities’ major partners, contractors/suppliers within Croydon’s commissioning framework.
The post holder will be responsible for providing advice on the ethos of business continuity planning and identifying commercial opportunities to develop business continuity services within the local community, both for the business and voluntary sectors.
