La Spezia is open long hours and is conveniently placed, whether you are picking up a coffee for the journey to work, or to buy some bread and shopping on your way home.

La Spezia is so well-known for the quality of its food, when the shop had a break-in, the thieves stole the store’s specialist olives.

I’m so pleased that this specialist shop continues to thrive, When it first opened, I was worried that it was too niche and not accessible enough (by car) to succeed. But ten years in business is testament to providing a good service that people obviously want. Forza La Spezia!
Let us also not forget the really important role that Georgio Raffaelli plays in watching out for many vulnerable members of the community; and also encouraging young people to engage with the community and feel welcomed. He is a vital part of life in South End.
