Prime Minister David Cameron may well be “frit” of appearing in televised election debates, but in Croydon, and Croydon Central in particular, there promises to be no shortage of hustings meetings with candidates before May 7.
The first to confirm its details will be at Croydon College on April 23, organised by the South Croydon Community Association, when five parliamentary candidates will attend.
Those taking part are Esther Sutton (Green), Sarah Jones (Labour), James Fearnley (Liberal Democrat), Peter Staveley (UKIP), and the MP for the Whitgift Foundation, Gavin Barwell, who has been a little coy about the party he might be representing.
The Question Time will be chaired by Nicolina Andall, a solicitor and chair of the Croydon Chamber of Commerce.
This event will follow the BBC’s Question Time format, with questions from the audience.
