March’s Farmers’ Market is this Saturday 28, trading hours are from 9.30am until 2pm.

spring lambThis month, Gill has naturally smoked haddock and fresh oysters in season, as well as her selection of wet and shellfish.

Little Honey Bee Michelle is back with Easter egg-shaped bath bombs!

Kirstie highly recommends Michelle’s ‘liquid soap’; not just for rinsing hands, use it in the bath for bubbles and washing.

Ruth of Pretty Good Stuff is back with her gorgeous cottage garden-style plants that she sells for Cystic Fibrosis and other charities.

And have you tried The Chilli Lady’s Salsa Verde, or their Coconut sauce? Salsa Verde goes with meat, cheese and fish and can be stirred into a bean salad. Coconut sauce is the perfect base for Thai curries or stir a spoon into steaming mussels.

In the farm shop, mutton joints and cuts are in season until late spring; try leg of mutton poached in white wine, or very slow-roasted shoulder. Alternatively we have diced mutton for rich casseroles, curry or tagine.

Seasonal sausages this week are; Tom’s Choice, Sit Down sausage made with local cider, Chipstead Chilli pork, pork, ginger & leek and pork, honey & thyme.

Easter Sunday is only a week away: April 5 – order your turkey, goose, duck, leg of lamb or rib of beef with Martyn in the Farm Shop this weekend; these cuts are very popular and we can sell out.
