Great to see Croydon Am Dram back at Fairfield. There are those who would have you believe that local performance groups had been priced out of central Croydon.

    • They had certainly been priced out of the Fairfields, David. That’s why this production appears as such a rarity of late.

But with the Spread Eagle studio theatre being sold-out for a series of performances and comedy shows, CODA returning to the Braithwaite Hall this week – with Witness for the Prosecution – for the first time in 15 years, and the David Lean Cinema re-opened and thriving after a year of programming from the volunteer enthusiasts of the StDLCC, maybe those in charge of these venues are beginning to realise that to keep them thriving, they need such community involvement.

Don’t get too excited too soon: we hear that Roy Chubby Brown is soon to be back at the Fairfield, too. Plus ca change
